Reports suggest that Damian Priest is the favorite to become the next US Champion.
There are also rumors that Austin Theory will be facing John Cena at WrestleMania 39, with multiple sources claiming that the match is already set, despite the lack of official confirmation. In this case, it wouldn't make sense for Theory to enter the match as the champion, as it would mean that John Cena would lose.
