Following The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns appearance on Logan Paul's podcast Impaulsive, the social media influencer then trash-talked Reigns after the latter left the set. This led to a social media exchange, resulting in Logan Paul appearing on the September 16th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, in which he confronted The Bloodline to invite Roman Reigns to a press conference in Las Vegas the following day.

At the press conference, WWE executive Triple H announced that Roman Reigns would defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Logan Paul in the main event of WWE Crown Jewel 2022. During the Crown Jewel press conference the day before the event, it was confirmed that while Roman Reigns would have The Bloodline in his corner (without Sami Zayn), Logan Paul would be backed by his brother Jake Paul.

Roman Reigns and Logam Paul put an incredible performance in the match. Both the stars went to their limit. We saw high-flying moves and close calls in the match. We also saw the brawl between The Bloodline (The Usos and Solo Sikoa) and Jake Paul & Logan Paul's friends Mike Majlak and George Janko.

At the closing moments of the match, Solo Sikoa and Jake Paul started brawl but officials rush down to get in between them. Officials back Solo up the ramp. The Usos come from behind on Jake Paul but Logan runs the ring and leaps out, taking The Usos down before they can hit Jake. Logan is fired up with his brother at the bottom of the ramp now. The Paul Brothers stand tall. Logan rushes back in for Reigns but Reigns hits him with a Superman Punch. Reigns calls for the Spear and the crowd yells out with him.
