Vince McMahon Reportedly Insisted On The Reunion Of Top WWE Team

The most successful tag team in the WWE's history, The New Day were split up in 2020 draft, where members Kofi Kingston and current King of the Ring Xavier Woods were moved to Monday Night Raw and Big E was on SmackDown for the singles run.

In his singles run, Big E showed his dominance, won the Money In The Bank briefcase, and later cashed in to win the WWE Championship. But his title reign ended at Day 1 event by Brock Lesnar, and then Big E silently moved to blue brand to join his New Day faction.

According to the Fightful Select reports, the latest reunion of WWE top faction The New Day was insisted upon by WWE Boss Vince McMahon himself.

This report states that Vince McMahon wanted the company's top babyface to be "on their own in most situations" and not have a faction to fall back on. That's the reason why the rest of the New Day wasn't involved in Big E's Money in the Bank cash-in match, despite of celebrations in the ring with him after the match.

After Big E losing his WWE Title, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was anxious to reunite the trio, as he "missed the magic they created together" as per the reports. Despite that, McMahon also insisted that the duo of Kingston and Big E be referred to just as that and not "the New Day."
