Roman Reigns Reportedly To Defend His Universal Title In Handicap Match Against Two Top Superstars

The Universal Champion Roman Reigns have successfully defended his title against several top superstars like Edge, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens and more. However, till now he didn't put his title on line in a handicap match but now it seems to change soon.

Few weeks back, Roman Reigns destroyed Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio on Friday Night Smackdown and later successfully defended his Universal Title against Rey Mysterio in Hell In A Cell match. However, their rivalry is far from over.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that WWE is planning to continue the rivalry between the Mysterios and Tribal Chief and The Usos. It was noted that WWE planning six-man tag team match between The Mysterios & mystery partner against Roman Reigns and The Usos. Apart from that, in WWE Supershow at Pittsburgh, company is planning for Roman Reigns to defend his title in handicap match against The Mysterios.

The Smackdown TV matches announced are Mysterios & mystery partner vs. Reigns & Usos and Belair vs. Bayley. 7/24 in Pittsburgh is listing Reigns vs. Rey & Dominik Mysterio in a handicap match with the title at stake which means Reigns has to win and putting the title up in a handicap match is stupid to begin with, as it just makes the babyfaces look like they are losers to start out with

Recently, Edge returned back to WWE and attacked Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. It was likely that that mystery partner would the Rated-R Superstar to add more star power to the team. Currently, Roman Reigns set of defend his Universal Championship against Edge at Money In The Bank 2021 PPV.
