Reported Back Up Plan For Roman Reigns vs. The Rock Match At WrestleMania 38

Tribal Chief Roman Reigns has been ruling the Smackdown ever since he returned back at last year's Summer Slam event as a heel. Current Roman Reigns gimmick was loved by fans and wanted to see many dream matches with him as heel.

One of the WWE's big rumored plan was Roman Reigns to go face-to-face against WWE Legend The Rock at next year's WrestleMania event. However, it seems like there are some injury fears about The Rock working in singles match at Grandest Stage of them all.

On the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE's one of the backup plan considering that to have Roman Reigns and The Rock to face eachother in tag team match with one of The Usos teaming up with each of them.

So that The Rock can be protected in the match with less involvement to over come the fear of injuries. However, WWE is still preferred for the singles match between The Rock and Roman Reigns but any involvement of The Rock is considering over him not doing the show.

"One idea that has been talked about, as the goal is Reigns and Rock in Dallas for the 2022 Mania, is that if concessions have to be made regarding Rock and movies and injury fears, that they do Reigns and an Uso vs. Rock and an Uso, so Rock can be protected from doing too much and it keeps it all in the family with the idea and Rock and Reigns as who is really the tribal chief. Obviously the singles match is the preferred match but any involvement of Rock is preferred over him not doing the show," stated Dave Meltzer. (H/T: WrestleTalk)
