Few months back, Tian Sha debuted with new gimmick, giving a intense training to Xia Li and Boa, which was seen through vignettes. Later, she accompanied Xia Li in her every match and giving orders to Boa and Li in WWE NXT. This mysterious character gimmick is liked by WWE officials including Triple H.

According to the Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, NXT Boss Triple H and Shawn Michaels very high on Tian Sha gimmick and believes that this storyline has legs and 'long term future' in NXT brand.

It was also noted that sources in WWE told to Sapp that Triple H and Shawn Michaels are 'very hands-on with the gimmick's presentation'. Tian Sha, Xia Li and Boa are featuring almost every week on black and gold brand which looks very interesting.

Tian Sha is currently being portrayed by Karen Q. This mysterious character presentation looks similar to the character of Mortal Kombat game - Shao Khan. Before this gimmick, Tian Sha was last seen in WWE TV on Mae Young Classic 2018. Later, she had knee injured and wasn't seen on WWE TV since then.
