On WWE Fastlane 2021 pay-per-view, Roman Reigns battled Daniel Bryan in singles match with Universal Title on line and also Edge as special guest enforcer of the match.
At the end of the match, Jey Uso interfered in the match and attacked Edge and Daniel Bryan. Then, Bryan tries to hits Jey Uso with steel chair but he accidentally hits Edge. Following that, Daniel Bryan made Roman Reigns to tap out but there was no referee to call, then, Edge attacked Bryan and Reigns with steel chair, seemingly turning heel. Then, Roman Reigns pinned Bryan to retain his Universal Title.

According to the Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is planning the three way main event between Edge, Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 37 for Universal Title.

It was reported that the planned ending between the Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan was to set up three way match between them which was rumored from a week. WWE is still advertising Roman Reigns vs. Edge for Universal Title at Show of shows. With three weeks away from the WrestleMania, it would expected that official announcement will be made soon according to the report.
