After 22 years with WWE, Big Show (Paul Wight) exited from the company and signed with it's rival promotion AEW. Paul Wight's arrival to the AEW was officially announced by company's Twitter handle and it was also revealed that he signed a long term deal with the company.

Now, Fightful Select reported the backstage reaction in WWE after surprising announcement of Big Show going to AEW.
It was reported that Paul Wight move is a big surprise and many WWE superstars didn't have any idea about Big Show leaving WWE. It was also noted that WWE talent didn't notice a 'chorus of goodbye' behind the scenes and only WWE higher-ups know about the Big Show's decision of leaving the company before a month.
At AEW, the talent didn't know about the arrival of Big Show to the company prior and there are more positive reactions from the wrestlers. AEW talent also more excited about his coming as they can learn more from the experienced Big Show.

According to the press release by AEW, Tony Khan was very excited to sign the wrestling veteran Big Show. It was also seen that along with his in-ring return, Paul Wight will also work as commentator on AEW's new show, AEW Dark: Elevation.
