Rey Mysterio Thanked Escobar For His Special Tribute At NXT Halloween Havoc

This week on NXT Halloween Havoc, Santos Escobar successfully defended his NXT Cruiserweight Championship aganist Jake Atlas. Escobar paid tribute to Rey Mysterio's iconic look by wearing the same attire from his match against Eddie Guerrero at WCW Halloween Havoc in 1997.

That attire was originally drew inspiration from "The Phantom" character created by Lee Falk. Legado del Fantasma also painted their face to pay homage to their mexican heritage.

After the match, Rey Mysterio took the Twitter and congratulated Escobar for his win and he also thanked Escobar for paying homage.

Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero had an incredible match at WCW Halloween Havoc, that took place in 1997. Not only that, both the Superstars had some classic matches between them in the history.
